I adopted a Border collie and lab mix-bred dog. I was surprised at how smart he is. However, I am concerned that his intense herding as well as retrieving instinct may become dangerous as it was already unbearable. This is a concern mainly because we are living in a very busy neighborhood. My dog is also so strong that training him is painstaking. When we talk a walk and we met small pets along the way, he will haul-ass the poor creatures definitely. But with the training collar, my dog was completely trained in just 2 days.

While using the collar, I keep on reminding myself that it is not necessarily a punishment device. If you are a pet owner like me, punishing your dog should not be your motivation. There are many instructional videos online on how to properly use the collar, although it all boils down to how you are going to use it for your own dog. For instance, pressing the button should be accompanied by a specific command. In this way, your dog will be able to discern and associate the command with the sensation and your voice. He will respond accordingly. Your command and the vibrating sensation will be enough to get your dog’s attention.

Before using it on my dog, of course, I tested it on myself even up to the highest level. However, I never get to use the other levels beyond the second one. I only use Level 2 once. With this effectiveness in mind, I am going to give this collar 4 stars, with 5 stars being the highest. The training collar is equipped with rubber flaps though I find it difficult to setup. Overall, it works perfectly fine and my family and I are so happy with the results. We can now see our dog run around freely without being a threat to other peope. I would buy this collar again if ever I have to replace the current one.
